Membrane Selection

To better match the requirements of different applications and various sewage treatment processes, there are different membrane material options.

EPDM membranes: excellent physical characteristics means reduce membrane shrinkage and age-related stiffening. EPDM membrane is widely used in municipal sewage treatment.

PU membranes: extremely long lifetime and no curing thanks to the free of plasticizer membrane. Unbeatable tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant (mechanical strength around 2.5-4 times that of most of the EPDM and silicone materials) enable it to use in heavily polluted wastewater or in complex working conditions. Also the high mechanical strength makes it the best membrane option for MBBR process. With characteriscs of good resistance to oil, gasoline and chemicals, PU membrane can be widely used in different type of industrial wastewater.

Aerts-X® FAQ

How do I choose the correct Aerts-X® length?
The appropriate length depends on the tank dimensions, airflow demand and aeration layout. Standard lengths include 500 mm, 750 mm and 1,000 mm, with customized lengths available.
What information is required for product selection?
Please provide the treatment capacity, wastewater type, biological process, tank dimensions, water depth, oxygen demand and blower airflow and pressure.
Can Aerts-X® replace an existing tube diffuser?
In many cases, yes. The existing diffuser length, connection size, thread standard, header dimensions and operating airflow should be confirmed before replacement.
How do I choose between EPDM and PU membranes?
EPDM is commonly used for municipal wastewater and general biological treatment. PU may be considered for selected industrial wastewater or applications requiring greater mechanical and abrasion resistance.
Is Aerts-X® compatible with round and rectangular headers?
Yes. Saddle-type fittings are available for round aeration headers, while threaded adapter fittings can be configured for rectangular headers.
Can the existing blower be reused?
The existing blower may often be reused after checking its airflow, pressure, operating range and the calculated head loss of the new aeration system.
Can Aerts-X® be used in a retrievable aeration system?
Yes. Aerts-X® can be integrated into suspended or frame-based retrievable aeration systems. The retrievable function is provided by the complete system structure rather than the individual diffuser alone.
How should Aerts-X® diffusers be inspected and maintained?
Regularly monitor bubble distribution, blower pressure and airflow. During scheduled maintenance, inspect the membrane, connections and supporting structure, and clean or replace damaged components when necessary.
